Elena is an inspiring and committed educator.

Her vision and openness has led to many rewarding and lively projects which have contributed to the surprise and enjoyment of all kinds music making by children, young adults and adults alike.

She is a regular visitor at the Dartington International Summer School where she launched the "Piano Club" and " Motormouth", a music-theatre project with composer David Bedford specifically aimed at children and young adults.

Elena has led masterclasses at both Trinity College of Music, the Vale of Glamorgan Festival of Living Composers, the Penkhull Festival, the Cheltenham International Festival, and the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas.

Elena is currently setting up a Junior New Quays at Trinity College of Music. Besides coaching and introducing new repertoire to students and teachers, Elena is also including young and up-and-coming talent in the gatherings which are part of the New Quays series.

New Quays was launched to rapturous applause on November 2002.Time Out billed it Critic's Choice, What's On in London gave this new departure in contemporary music a hefty boost, and Classical Music made it their cover issue in january 2003.A unique venture for new keyboard music, New Quays brings together experienced professionals, talented students, aficionados and keen admirers and explorers. Influential works are performed, engagingly introduced, and when the mood takes anyone, discussed. There is wine to loosen any audience inhibitions and maybe even to oil the pianists' fingers!"

Elena will be part of the Newport International Piano Competition for Young Pianists at the Royal Academy in London in July.

With the backing of Trinity College of Music's keyboard faculty, the concert will kick-start in April and will create a forum for listening, discussing and sharing music and ideas between the students, the teachers and the audience.
